Industry leader, Microgaming, has recently donated the grand sum of €$£30,000 to four charities – as part of their annual Gift of Giving campaign.

This incredibly generous figure will be shared equally between the four charities.

In the 2018 campaign, the charities that received the highest number of votes in each region were Heroes on the Water (Isle of Man), Teenage Cancer Trust (the UK and Europe), Save the Rhino International (Africa), and Médecins Sans Frontières (Rest of the World).

What is the Gift of Giving campaign?

The Gift of Giving campaign was launched back in 2013, a part of Microgaming PlayItForward, which provides key customers and contacts of Microgaming with the opportunity to vote for one of several charities in their region.

The charity with the most votes from each region (Isle of Man, UK and Europe, Africa and Rest of the World) receives a donation of £7,500.

It has been running for six successful years, with the organisation donating a grand total of £180,000 to a number of worthy causes.

Who are the charities this year?

It should be noted that these were voted basically by the gambling industry.

Teenage Cancer Trust (UK and Europe)

In the UK, around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day.

This charity helps young people and their families deal with the many ways cancer can affect an individual’s body, mind and life.

With support from companies like Microgaming, they have changed the lives of many thousands of young cancer patients.

Save the Rhino International (Africa)

Save the Rhino International is a charity whose vision is for all five rhino species to be thriving in the wild for generations to come.

Recently, they have celebrated zero poaching in priority field programmes in Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia.

The funds generated by Microgaming are crucial in keeping up the global rhino conservation efforts, giving wildlife rangers the best chance to stay safe and protect wildlife.

Médecins Sans Frontières (Worldwide)

Founded in 1971, MSF medical teams act fast to save people’s lives in conflict zones, natural disasters and epidemics.

They work with millions of patients every year in many different types of projects, across 65 countries.

From measles vaccination campaigns in the Democratic Republic of Congo to complex surgery in Syria, the money donated by Microgaming will allow them to respond immediately to crises around the world.
