Yggdrasil’s Rocking 2016: 45% Of Your Wins On Mobile Casino GamesMay 19th, 2016
Yggdrasil Gaming have released details of how their first quarter of 2016 has gone. We take away the boring bits, and see what this up and coming casino software has been up to.
Every three months or so, slot software providers and casinos like to send out press releases telling everyone how awesome they’ve done.
Usually we ignore them, unless they have some ground breaking news in there.
So why have we picked up on Yggdrasil’s news? Because this up and coming gaming studio has made enough ripples in the last 6 months to catch our attention.
Their report had more than just ‘Hey! we are still here!’; instead they concentrated on how they’ve improved from 2015, and why mobile casinos are now a huge priority for them.
Here’s the top four bits of information you’ll find interesting, and why you’ll want to check out Yggdrasil casino games sooner rather than later.
1. Making their games mobile was a good move for all
Sometime in 2015, if you were one of the handful of people who knew Yggdrasil games (cause your cool), you’d have noticed that not many online slot games were coming out from this provider.
Video Slots has the whole collection:
Get 11 free spins no deposit + 100% up to £€$200 on your first deposit.
That’s because they went through a phase we like to call ‘making everything mobile casino friendly’. Ok, so it’s not a catchy title, but it gets the point across.
They turned some of their best casino games into HTML5 – the programming language you need in order to play games on your Android phone, iPhone, or iPad.
And, from some point over the summer of 2015, everything coming out from Yggdrasil was HTML5 slots, even the ones you saw online, which is very unusual.
Not to get too geeky, but most casino game softwares choose one language for online slots, and another for mobile slots; meaning they create 2 machines each time.
Yggdrasil ditched the old technology and said proudly “the future is on the go gaming”.
Games come out faster, smoother, and identical
What does that mean for you? It means that since, we’ve gotten one new Yggdrasil game a month, casinos can quickly integrate them with their others games on all platforms, and you don’t have to wait that long to play them.
Better yet, you know for a fact that all the features you see on mobile casinos, or online, will be the same vice versa; because it’s the exact same machine.
How good a move was this? Whilst in 2015 only 17% of total wins were on Yggdrasil mobile slots, in 2016 that jumped dramatically, with 45% of player wins coming from Android, iOS and Windows devices.
Clearly, you guys were happy with the change.
2. Their jackpots slots are getting VERY interesting
2015 saw the little software from Sweden launch their first jackpot slots. However 2016 saw them blossom.
Exclusive Mr Green Casino Bonus:
- 20 free spins on Gonzo’s Quest
- 100% up to £€$200 bonus
- 100 free spins on Mr Green Moonlight
Thanks in part to strong games, and the fact they are one of the few software who can hold ‘in-game’ tournaments across multiple casinos.
This lead you guys to deciding that games like Holmes and The Stolen were worth playing, with the jackpots dropping time and time again, over the beginning of the year.
One particular jackpot game outshines them all
“Our existing portfolio continues to perform strongly. Our popular Joker Millions progressive jackpot slot has drawn plenty of interest, with the jackpot reaching a record high of €1.7m.” Stated CEO Fredrik Elmqvist.
Granted, it’s not as high as the likes of Mega Fortune from NetEntertainment studios, but those guys have hundreds of staff and offices worldwide.
Yggdrasil have a total of 65 people working hard on each new game and feature that comes out. And you guys love their jackpot slots enough to allow it to climb to €1.7 million.
Now that’s impressive.
3. They successfully launched in the UK
We should point out that you can play Yggdrasil games in many parts of the world; including Australia, Canada, Scandinavia and most of Europe.
However, there are some places that are more awkward than others, the UK being one of them, where you need a license to get your games on UK mobile casino sites.
But, this was granted in January 2016, after many months of effort, and as of last week, 6 of their games had been approved for the market (not because the others are faulty, but the approval process is a little slow).
Where can I play if I live in the UK?
Currently, the only casino we recommend who has Yggdrasil slots is Leo Vegas mobile casino.
There are 5 other casinos out there with their games, but they are not one that we’ve used and reviewed, so wouldn’t be comfortable endorsing.
Leo Vegas casino, however, is mighty fine, with a huge selection of games and 50 free spins no deposit for UK players to test them out, followed by £1,500 in bonus over 4 deposits.
You can’t say that’s not worth at least registering.
4. Improving tournaments and slot free spin bonuses
If you’ve been a fan of Vera John casino, in particular, you would have noticed that you can get some little added ‘extras’ on this software, that you won’t find anywhere else.
“Looking forward, we plan to continue to develop BOOST™, our market-leading collection of in-game promotional tools… and will be adding to our gamification features later in the year.” Continued Fredrik.
What the freak is a ‘BOOST’? You might ask yourself? Well, it’s just ways of giving you more per game, which they’ve really brought forward in 2016.
- Normal Free Spins: Get X amount of free spins on a game at minimum bet.
- Win Spins: You get as many free spins as it takes to win an X total amount.
- Thrill Spins: You get as many free spins as it take to win X amount in a single spin.
- Hit Spins: You get as many free spins as it takes to hit the main bonus feature of a game.
- In Game Tournaments and Raffles: Compete for prizes, check out the leaderboard, without ever exiting the slot.

Certainly more fun than your standard casino bonus online, isn’t it? Currently, as we said, Vera&John are the ones who use these tools the best.
But more is yet to come…?
And, if the CEO is to be believed, they will be adding ‘Gamification’ to the list. If you’re wondering what that means, it’s usually either giving you badges or points for hitting certain targets.
Ie. Win 5 times in Viking Go Wild, get a conqueror Badge, with 10 times and you become Viking supreme.
Still, it’s all a little too vague to get excited about. What isn’t is this little hidden statement:
“Watch out for the launch [of the] ‘Casino Cash Race’, during the opening match of the European Championships in June.” Finish Yggdrasil’s CEO.
Now that’s coming soon, and if rumours are to be believed, in may turn any slot into a jackpot slot; the casino just had to put a big bounty on a game, and if you play, any spin can trigger the prize.
Bet you understand why we’re so excited about this little provider, who keep surprising us, and keep bringing out brilliant slots machines.
